The one for when your mind tricks you

Has your mind ever tricked you? Has that little voice in your head that normally keeps you out of trouble – just gone quiet and let you do something stupid?

So many times we trust ourselves, we trust our heart, our mind – and we make decisions – decisions that we think in the moment may be okay – but we find out later that they were definitely not the right choice. You see, our emotions can be a little bit like a roller coaster. Our emotions and thoughts can change based on how we are feeling that day, that minute, that second..(if you’re like me you probably change your mind every two seconds). Let’s face it – we are very I N C O N S I S T E N T.

God is not deceitful, he will not fluctuate, he is a C O N S T A N T. When we don’t see the bigger picture, he does. He won’t lie, he won’t change, he knows everything. He won’t tell us to make a decision just because we’re mad, or sad, or hurt. He will teach us to make a decision based on the words that he spoke – he will teach us to make our decisions be more Christlike. We must learn to lean on him when we make decisions – he can teach us how to follow his voice instead of following our temporary, ever-changing feelings.

Lord, help us to lean on you whenever our vision is clouded by our own emotions. Remind us that you know all things and most importantly, you know what is best. We ask you today, to lead us down the path that you see best fit for our lives.

| “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”| P R O V E R B S 3 : 5 – 6
